Training Environmental Health Technician

The need for special training, and the attainment of a high standard of efficiency in all aspects related to the duties of the public health inspector, as well as the necessity for a high educational standard in every candidate for appointment, is so well recognized. Practical training will be on a whole – time basis. The local authorities and other governmental agencies undertaking the practical training must be able to provide a sufficiently comprehensive field of practical work for the students.

One aspect of the subject must always be stressed. The position of Public Health Inspector is a responsible and honorable one, worthy of the best effort of every candidate aspiring to it. Students must recognize at the onset that the examination taken at the end of the programme is not a preliminary or elementary one. It is a final and qualifying examination, and should not be taken lightly or without adequate preparation.
