Production & Operations Management Programme

Production and Operations Management (POM) is a diploma programme designed to develop competency relevant to Zambia’s growing manufacturing and service industry. It has a unique combination of Production, Engineering and Business courses. The program aims to equip the students with skills to be able to: forecast demand

• Develop efficient and reliable production/service-delivery processes

• Planning and controlling inventories

• Scheduling employees

• Designing and managing distribution & transportation networks

• Supervise, manage and maintain production and manufacturing facilities

• Customer care. The program focuses on the management of resources and the distribution of goods and services to customers in line with market opportunity(s), investment objectives, policies and global economic trends.

The emphasis in the new syllabus is to provide students with rare opportunities to develop and run their own enterprises s. The courses also encourage integration of graduates into existing enterprises to the satisfaction of investors and customers.
